Why didn't anyone ever tell me how easy it is to make crab legs??

There's a lovely little seafood market just up the street from my apartment. Yesterday they had a big sign outside that said "Crab Leg Sale." I was looking for inspiration for dinner, and that seemed like a sign. Heh heh.

I'd never made crab legs before, so I asked the guy behind the counter and he told me, "If you can boil water, you can make crab legs." Well, the guy wasn't lying. It turns out that crab legs are about the easiest thing to make. Ever. Boil some water in a big pot, stick the crab legs in, and 5 minutes later you have a delicious meal.

Only downside was that when I sat down to eat my crab legs, they were a little hard to get into. I didn't have one of those cracking tools. So instead, I went to my trusty toolbox and pulled out my vice grips. They did the trick.

So the moral of the story: crab legs are easy to prepare and incredibly delicious, but be sure you have proper tools on hand to devour them. Yum-o.

I should have told you. The crab legs how-to is one of the only recipes I have in my repetoire.

i wonder what other foods fall into this category. i recently learned that all you need to do to make lamb chops is to add salt/pepper and then grill/broil them.

who knew?
