Stop the Van Halen Tour
Funniest story I've heard on NPR in a LOOOONG time.
I mean, really, who says "This tour is just a gateway to Sucktown!" on public radio?! John Moe, apparently. If you don't have Real Player, you can download the Podcast. The Van Halen story is around 45 min. into the second hour.

I can't believe nobody else has commented on this yet...must be the need for Realplayer.
I think I sort of half-caught this story in my early morning semi-wakefulness this weekend, so when I read the entry, it was kind of a deja-vu experience. "Gateway to sucktown" indeed. I'll just keep my 20+ year old memory of the "Hot for Teacher" video, thank you very much.
