Nancy's Updates

Ladies! So nice to see Suzaaku's post - seems like we've been slacking on the postings lately. So I'll chime in with some updates on my latest adventures.

My Magic Wand
I'm taking a conducting class this semester and it's pretty much the most fun thing ever. During the first week of class, we were given several batons to try out and see which one we liked best. It felt very much like the scene in the wand shop in Harry Potter! And the baton really is kind of like a magic wand. I wave it in certain patterns and musicians do what I want! Magic!

Pole Dancing
I'm in a production of Cabaret here in town, and for one of the dances in the show we get to pole dance. It's harder than it looks, but super fun. After just two days of practicing, my muscles are sore and I'm bruised all over my shins and knees. But it's a HOT dance, so it'll be worth it! And with my new skillz, we know I'll never have to go hungry.

All in all, it's not so bad being back in the 'Burg. But I miss my Really Top Drawer pals (and all my other lovely Denver friends!) terribly.

(I was going to call this post Magic Wands and Pole Dancing, but I thought that sounded a little too dirty for a headline)

PEI

I just came back from a vacation to PEI. It was so great. Everywhere you go you are close to water. Even driving doesn't feel like a chore when the sights are so beautiful and calming (lots of green and red fields- red because the soil is red).

My pictures are here

I've always wanted to go because I grew up reading and loving the Anne of Green Gables books. The best part of visiting all the L.M. Montgomery sites is to stroll through all the place that inspired her books. I ended up only doing "Anne" stuff for about a day and half in addition to watching the two musicals, Anne of Green Gables and Anne & Gilbert .

I spent a lot of time by the beaches and sand dunes and on boardwalks and baywalks, just rambling and also just sitting and writing and soaking it all up. So beautiful and peaceful and calming...
